Food from animals

The food provided by animals consist of milk,egg,meat.The food obtained is very rich rich in proteins.

The animals which provide us food are manly of two types:

1)Milk yielding animals

For Ex:cow,buffalo,goat.

Milk and its products like butter,ghee, curd, cheese are highly nutritious food.

2)Meat and egg yielding animals

For Ex:Goat,sheep, fish,poultry(chicken,hen,duck)

Poultry give us meat as well as egg.

Animal Husbandry

The branch of agriculture which deals with feeding,shelter,health and breeding of domestic animals is called animal husbandry.

The various practices necessary for raising animals for food and other purposes are:

1)Proper feeding of animals

2)Proper shelter of animals

3)Prevention and cure of animal diseases

4)Proper breeding of animals
