Equation of motion

Last Updated on March 20, 2019 By Mrs Shilpi Nagpal Leave a Comment

Equations of uniformly accelerated motion

1)First equation of motion
v=u+at

2)Second equation of motion
                1
S = ut + —- a t²

               2

3)Third equation of motion
v² = u² + 2aS

If a body starts from rest then u=0
If a body comes to rest then v=0
If a body moves with uniform velocity then a=0

u=Initial velocity of the body

v=Final velocity of the body

a=Acceleration

t=Time taken

S=Distance travelled by the body in time t
