Que 1) What is Village panchayat ?
Ans Village Panchayat is a democratic form of government at Village level. It works on the concept of local self government. It is composed of elected representatives of the villagers called panchs and a president called sarpanch. It is responsible for managing the affairs of the village, such as providing basic amenities, resolving disputes, implementing schemes, etc.

Ans In a democratic country, an important means for people to exercise their political power are elections. All adults men and women vote to elect their representative. However powerful a person may be, she/he is bound by the law of the country. The rule of law also provides protection to individuals against social evils such as untouchability, child marriage, sati, and other forms of discrimination.

Ans Democratic society is a society where the people have the power to choose their leaders and to participate in the government.
