Ch Sound Words in English
The voiceless (unvoiced) CH sound exists in English words such as Chain, Speech, Munch, Chess, Chance, and Charcoal. The CH sound is a voiceless or unvoiced sound because the vocal cords do not vibrate when we produce the sound. Instead, we release air out of our mouth to form the sound.
To make a Ch sound, you have to briefly obstruct your airway by contacting the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth, then release the air through your mouth. Just like the word “Cheese” Look at how our tongue rests on the upper part of mouth right behind our front teeth.
