Question 5 Write the Central Theme of the Poem.

Answer The poem tells the story of a duck and a kangaroo having a chat. The duck admires the kangaroo’s ability to jump about and visit different places. The poem provides the lesson that if people behave politely, they can receive what they want. We should pay attention to other people’s feelings.

Life is boring for the duck as she has to remain confined within the pond’s perimeters. She does not have the legs to go around and see the world. She has always admired the other side of the world where the kangaroo goes. In this poem, you will find that the duck requests her friend, the kangaroo to take her on his back and show her the places she wants to go.
