Homophones – English Grammar

Homophones are words that sound the same as another word but have a different meaning and often a different spelling as in words write, right and weather, whether etc. There are plenty of words in the English language that sound the same but have completely different meanings.

Here are the examples of homophones words :-

Son : His son is very naughty.

Sun : The Sun is shining brightly in the sky.

Way : God always show us the correct way.

Weigh : I weigh nearly twice as much as you.

Write : Please write neatly.

Right : All the answers are right.

Stare : She turned to stare at him.

Stair : She climbed the stairs to reach fourth floor.

Hair : Seema hair are very long and silky.

Hare : The little hare is very soft.

Be : I just want to be fit and healthy.

Bee: There is a bee hive on tree.

Knight :The princess was rescued by a brave knight.

Night :We watched a horror movie yesterday night.

Feat : That new building is a great feat of engineering.

Feet :  My feet are so cold.

Mail : Please mail that document as early as possible.

Male :  The male chicken is called a cock.
