Question 2 Give example of double displacement reaction?

Question 3 What are precipitation reactions?

Double Displacement Reaction

Those reactions in which two compounds react by an exchange of ions to form two new compounds. are called Double Displacement Reactions.

For Example :

AgNO3(aq) + NaCl(aq) → AgCl(s) + NaNO3(aq)

HCl(aq) + NaOH(aq) → NaCl(aq) + H2O(l)

BaCl2(aq) + CuSO4(aq) → BaSO4(S) + CuCl2 (aq)

Those reactions in which an insoluble solid is formed that separates from the solution are called precipitation reactions.
