Matter
Anything which has mass and occupies space is called matter.
Material
The matter in which an object is made is called material.
All the objects are made up of one or more materials.
For example: Table is made of wood, so wood is a material.
Nails are made of iron, so iron is a material.
Examples of materials are wood, glass, plastic, metals(copper, aluminum, silver, gold) , steel, stainless steel, paper, rubber, leather, cotton, silk , sand, sugar, wool, nylon, polyester, water, soil etc.
Natural material
Wool, cotton, silk, rocks, minerals, water, gold, petroleum, wood, sand, leather, soil etc.
Man-made material
Iron, stainless steel, cement, glass, cement, plastic, polyester, paper, paints, brass, sugar etc.
Many objects are made up of a combination of materials.
The same object may be made of different material.
Tumbler is an object which we use in our daily life. A tumbler can be made of different materials like plastic, glass, stainless steel, brass , silver.

Many kinds of objects can be made of same materials.
Plastic is a material. This plastic can be used to make different kinds of objects. Plastics can be used to make different objects like ruler, tumbler, mug, bucket, pipes, lunch box, toys, tooth brush.

Biscuit is an object which is made by the combination of three materials: white flour, sugar , ghee.
